Please join 5 NH artisans for an evening of exquisite art. View their work and meet and talk with the artists themselves…find out what made them create the awesome pieces currently on display. And it is FREE to all. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy the late summer evening with some fantastic artists. All work on display is currently for sale, and the City Hall Gallery does not take a commission on any sales.
The doors open for the Trolley event at 5:00 p.m. and will run till to 8:30 p.m. so all are welcome to enjoy the exhibit along with music and refreshments downstairs. It’s FREE, so bring your family and friends for a great Art-night out!
Meet the ArtistsMarcia Santore of Plymouth NH www.marciasantore.comMarcia Green Santore was raised in Connecticut, California, upstate New York and central Texas. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art, with an emphasis in painting and drawing, from the University of Texas at Austin. Since then, she has lived and worked in Austin, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. She currently lives in the lakes and mountains region of New Hampshire, where she has taught art at Plymouth State University and other teaching studios. Santore has exhibited her work, which is in private and public collections, throughout the United States.
Santore serves on the board of the Women's Caucus for Art - New Hampshire, is a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association, and appeared in Who's Who of American Women (Marquis, 1996, 1997, 2004).
Tony Luongo of Manchester, NH www.luongoart.comTony’s abstract paintings are a way for him to relax and just enjoy the youthful pleasure of putting paint on canvas. He cannot make a “mistake” because if a painting is not turning out the way he likes then he lets it dry and paints over it. This is one of the ways he creates subtle texture and beautiful color, both bold and subdued, that evoke passion and emotion. His work can be found in private collection throughout the United States.
Tony Luongo, a self-taught award-winning artist, illustrator and designer whose portraits have garnered national recognition lives in Manchester, NH. His greatest artistic passion is in portraiture and figurative work in both oil and charcoal. He also enjoys plein air painting when he needs to get out of the studio. He continues to improve his skills and is always trying to impress his loving wife, little boy and baby girl.
Aline Lotter, Manchester, NH www.PaintingsByAline.comI have been painting landscapes only since October of 2005, but I have aspired to be an artist since childhood. During long decades of denial, I fulfilled my love of art by collecting the paintings of others, including many who are New Hampshire artists. Now that I can express my own artistic impulses, the medium of expression has been oil and the subject has been, for the most part, landscapes. My “day job” is as a tax lawyer with the firm, Lotter & Associates, P.C., Manchester, NH. In furtherance of my legal career, I earned degrees from Cornell University, Suffolk University Law School and Boston University Law School.
Debbie Curtin of Manchester, NHIf you are a RED SOX fan, then you are going to LOVE her current exhibit! She loves to work with text and letterforms, and her exhibit showcases cool signs, including a sandwich board style sign, that she has created in the fashion of what one might actually see hanging around the walls of Fenway Park, all using the “Red Sox” typeface as the basis of the piece. Red Sox Nation - you gotta see these signs!

All artists for this exhibit have generously donated $50 p/p to the “Manchester Art Fund”. These donations help the Commission to sustain this fund, which is a “protected” funds source to be used specifically for purchasing public art in the City of Manchester. Individual artist’s and like-minded individuals, business and organizations make contributions which directly support the arts in Manchester with each and every exhibit held at the “Art on the Wall at City Hall” Gallery.
The Board of Mayor and Alderman established the Manchester Art Fund in December 2002. The Art Fund is a non-lapsing fund designated strictly for public art, to which anyone is welcomed to make a donation. This fund ensures that such a vision becomes a reality. This fund, in part with other support, helped us bring sculptures like the Mill Girl, and most recently the Verizon Wireless Arena piece, along with other works of art. A new sculpture will be coming to the City in the Fall of 2010…be sure to watch for information about this newest commission! (visit our
